SURMA offers a comprehensive set of state-of-the-art software tools to fit your needs and your circumstances! From the most practical and cost-efficient AIREX analysis to the most intuitive and useful REPORTing tools, SURMA provides the tools for your needs!
SURMA Core is the foundation and framework for all the Surma Software Analysis Modules. It provides the state-of-the-art 3D environment to work on your assessments. Streamlined and informative graphics combined with intuitive tables for data input give you the tools to optimize your design's survivability in any threat scenario.
Our profound knowledge and long experience with navy research and development projects enables us to provide rapid, accurate and well validated solutions for all areas of navy combat survivability.
SURMA Analysis Tools use well-validated and practically streamlined physical models to make the assessments fast and accurate. This makes it possible to integrate the survivability analysis into the iterative design process and allows designers to constantly improve and validate the design without added costs induced by late design changes.
SURMA is built onto the idea that you can have and use only the tools you need, but it also provides the possibility to use external tools via built-in interfaces. All SURMA Analysis Modules and Interfaces are used and managed through the SURMA Core, which is prerequisite for all SURMA Software Products.
SURMA UNDEX is a very fast and automized physics-based vulnerability assessment tool, which takes into account the hull plating damage from the shock wave, the global kickoff velocity of the ship hull, and whipping response to gas bubble pulsation.
The hull plating damage is assessed using an advanced time-domain based SDOF model, taking into account the initial shock wave, and local and bulk cavitation.
SURMA AIREX is very fast and automized physics-based vulnerability assessment tool for SURMA. It takes into account the damage from fragments, air blast and flooding.
Structural response and system failures are analyzed. For systems, redundancies in the system tree and route failures are included in the analysis.
The ship’s ferromagnetic materials and parts cause an anomaly to the earth magnetic field surrounding the ship. This anomaly is called the magnetic signature of the ship. The signature can be detected with magnetometers in a sea mine and a mine can be triggered to detonate when a ship passes by.
SURMA Magnetic modelling offers capability for very fast static magnetic signature assessments. Results are available already at early design stages.
Perhaps the most challenging part of any analysis and assessment is the presentation of results in intuitive, transparent and unambiguous way. SURMA Report provides the designer with valuable information that can be used to improve the design throughout the process from the early sketches to lifetime upgrades.
In order to enhance the design based on the conducted survivability assessment, SURMA relies heavily on graphical representations and sortable tables and lists regarding the assessment results. The hyperlinks connect the different entities to each other, e.g. a compartment is connected to all of the equipment components it contains. This makes it easy to navigate the results and track the details within the SURMA model.
A clear understanding of the big picture is crucial, if the aim is to find improvable issues in the overall design. With this kind of interactive and informative graphics the user is quickly able to get an overview of the assessed scenario.
The biggest differentiator between SURMA Report and a traditional report is probably the third dimension. The use of HTML format enables the integration of conventional static report and interactive 3D-graphics without requiring any additional software.
The use of interactive 3D allows the designer to even walk through the ship and see why, for example, a particular structural design solution might lead to unexpected damage when subject to air blast. This approach also enables incorporation of 3D animation showing how damage propagates, if deemed appropriate.
