The DA Process and Quality Control


DA-Group maintains a strong prototype, in-house design and build philosophy, which has enabled us to provide many complex and unique space subsystems.

Product Assurance and Quality Control

DA-Group operates to full European Space Agency quality standards, using documented and proven design, manufacturing and test procedures, derived from ECSS standards. Components are procured to customer quality levels up to full space qualification compliant with ESCC standards. Design analyses (RAMS) are conducted to international standards, using ECSS, Mil-Std or other procedures according to customer requirements.

Recently, DA-Group has conducted qualification testing of prototype MMIC Low Noise Amplifiers and is able to offer space qualified LNA, up to 230 GHz.

Design and Analysis

Electrical, RF, thermal and structural simulation and analysis in support of spaceflight equipment and subsystems, specialising in radar, radiometry, telecommunications and data handling. Emphasis in the following design areas:

  • Semiconductor & MMIC development, including LNA’s 50 to 230 GHz
  • FPGA and ASIC embedded, on-board software
  • Digital and analogue control and monitoring circuits and high speed links
  • General RF to 230 GHz, coaxial, waveguide and strip line circuits, including amplifiers (MMIC and discrete), couplers, filters, isolators, circulators, switches…
  • Mechanical structures, housings, antenna and antenna supports

  • Mechanical manufacture
  • Printed circuit (standard, multilayer and uWave) assembly
  • MMIC handling integration and connection
  • Automated batch manufacturing of space qualified PCB assemblies and units


Full test facilities and experience of Space Flight Quality Integration and Testing, to ECSS standard, including:
